Prior to serving as president of California State University, Northridge, from 2000-2011, Dr. Jolene Koester served in numerous academic and administrative positions at California State University, Sacramento—including provost and vice president for academic affairs. As a faculty member, and now Coordinator  of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) New Presidents Academy, Dr. Koester’s primary teaching assignments have included “Shaping the Organization through Team Building,” “Interpretative Leadership through Presidential Communication,” and “The Nature of the Presidency.”  She also is a published scholar in the area of intercultural communication.
