OVERVIEW

Dr. Rich Haney is a retired community college president with more than 30 years of experience in higher education. Most recently, he served as president of Mesa Community College (MCC), the largest institution in the Maricopa Community College District, serving over 30,000 students.

Prior to his tenure at MCC, Dr. Haney spent 18 successful years at the College of Lake County (CLC) in Illinois. He was appointed Interim President from 2017 to 2018 by the Board of Trustees, leading the institution through a presidential transition. During his time at CLC, he held several key leadership positions, including Provost for Academic and Student Affairs, Vice President of Educational Affairs, Assistant Vice President of Educational Affairs, and Dean. He currently holds Emeritus status at CLC.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Haney held leadership roles at Parkland College and Southwestern Illinois College. In addition to his administrative work, he has taught at the high school, community college, and university levels.
