While at CSU Pueblo, he and his colleagues renovated a university from the inside-out creating what Forbes magazine recognized as “one of the country’s up-and-coming Hispanic Serving Institutions.” He was awarded President Emeritus from his governing board recognizing his contributions to the university.

Timothy is a senior consultant with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. With three decades of experience  in higher education (and another decade in industry), he develops leaders on three levels: Leading Self (enhancing communication effectiveness), Leading Teams (mitigating conflict, building teams, and managing performance), and Leading Organizations (developing strategic vision, leading through crisis, and building organizational cultures that sustain strategy).

He has co-authored four books and published more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. His research examines the intersections of communication, personality, and cognition and their application to instructional, organizational, and interpersonal contexts.

He regularly provides communication, leadership, and organizational training and development to clients in aerospace, retail, higher education, medical, finance, transportation, as well as numerous nonprofit organizations. He is also a certified trainer for the Franklin Covey group.
